Board-Level Leak Before a Merger Announcement
Situation
A publicly traded company contacted us after confidential merger discussions appeared to surface in a competitor's internal communications. The leak had occurred across multiple meetings held in the same executive conference room over a six-week period.
Approach
We conducted a full TSCM inspection of the conference room and adjacent executive suite, including RF spectrum analysis, NLJD sweep of all fixtures and furniture, physical inspection of AV equipment and power infrastructure, and a network sweep for rogue access points.
Finding & Outcome
A GSM-based audio transmitter had been concealed inside a replacement power strip installed during a routine facilities update. The device was dormant during standard RF sweeps but activated on a scheduled timer — a method designed to evade periodic detection.
The device was documented, removed, and the client's legal and security teams were briefed. A written report was provided for use in the subsequent internal investigation.
Pre-Deposition Sweep for a High-Stakes Litigation Team
Situation
Outside counsel representing a client in a significant commercial dispute requested a sweep of their temporary office space and deposition suite at a rented venue, 48 hours before proceedings were scheduled to begin.
Approach
We swept the full suite on short notice: physical inspection of all fixtures, RF spectrum analysis, thermal imaging of walls and ceiling panels, and inspection of all installed AV and conferencing equipment.
Finding & Outcome
No active devices were found. Two anomalies were identified during physical inspection — a loose ceiling tile with evidence of recent disturbance, and a conference phone with a non-factory internal configuration. Both were documented and the phone was replaced before proceedings.
Counsel proceeded with confidence in the integrity of the space. The written report was retained as part of the matter's security record.
Private Residence During Contentious Divorce Proceedings
Situation
An individual contacted us during a high-conflict divorce after noticing that their spouse appeared to have advance knowledge of conversations held privately at home. The concern was that devices may have been placed by the spouse or a third party acting on their behalf.
Approach
We conducted a full residential sweep covering the primary living areas, home office, master bedroom, and common spaces. The sweep included RF analysis, NLJD inspection of electronics and fixtures, and a review of smart home devices and the home network.
Finding & Outcome
A commercially available audio recorder had been placed inside a home office bookshelf, configured to record continuously and upload via the home Wi-Fi network. A secondary device — a GPS tracker — was found on the undercarriage of the client's vehicle.
Both devices were documented with chain-of-custody procedures and the client's attorney was notified. The findings were subsequently used in the legal proceedings.
Executive Vehicle Sweep During a Corporate Investigation
Situation
A senior executive under internal investigation by their own company requested an independent sweep of their personal and company vehicles after becoming concerned that their movements were being monitored.
Approach
We conducted a full physical sweep of both vehicles: undercarriage inspection for magnetic trackers, interior inspection for audio devices, OBD port analysis, and inspection of factory and aftermarket electronics.
Finding & Outcome
A hardwired GPS tracking device had been installed behind the dashboard of the company vehicle, connected to the vehicle's power supply. The installation was professional-grade and not detectable without physical disassembly.
The device was documented and the client's personal legal counsel was briefed. The executive retained the documentation for use in subsequent proceedings.
